In this image, the venerable carrier is turning hard to port to bring her bows into the wind, a necessary move prior to launching aircraft from her catapults. The extreme nature of her turn is clear from the wake: the carrier has shifted a good 45 degrees to port in a very short distance, an impressive move for a 100,000 tonne warship!
