Known in the Navy as Boomers, these boats are built to lurk in the deep oceans, watching and waiting for the order that everyone hopes will never come. It is these submarine’s duty to avenge the United States in case of a surprise nuclear attack. Each submarine carries enough nuclear warheads to obliterate most of Russia (or China, or Europe…) and it is fervently hoped that these vessels are never called to arms.
