We continue our ships theme with another mighty warship, this time the HMS King George V, a super-dreadnought battleship built just prior to World War Two. Her main armament is clearly visible in it’s unusual arrangement of a quad-turret with a twin turret superfiring over it. The quad turrets were an innovative way to save weight and armour, but proved to be less than reliable in combat. Despite this, King George V and her four sisters performed admirably in WW2. This great image is a perfect wallpaper for any battleship fan, and as always is free to use.
