We’ve decided to add a new category here at HD2013wallpapers.com: one dedicated to the beautiful starships seen in science fiction. To kick it off we have the absolutely gorgeous Andromeda Ascendant, a Systems Commonwealth Glorious Heritage class Heavy Cruiser. She was the pride of the Commonwealth, until she was ambushed in the Hephaestus system by a vast Nietzschean armada at the beginning of their rebellion. The Andromeda’s Commander, Dylan Hunt, ordered his crew to abandon ship whilst he made a close orbit a rouge black hole to buy time for them. However, due to enemy fire and sabotage, the ship flew too close to the black hole and was frozen in time for 300 years. When they emerged, the Commonwealth was long gone and a new Dark Age had set in. Captain Hunt and his ship set out to rebuild the Commonwealth and unite the galaxies. This amazing image is the first in our line-up of sci-fi starships and makes an ideal wallpaper for fans of the show to enjoy.
