Fought on the 21st of October 1805, the Battle of Trafalgar was the climactic engagement between the Royal Navy and the Combined Fleet of France and Spain. The British ships were outnumbered, but thanks to innovative tactics by Admiral Lord Nelson, the British forced a close-range melee and carried the day, taking 22 enemy ships as prizes of war, while destroying 3 more, without losing a single vessel of their own.
